Couples Therapy

You're probably the one who pushed for this. Your partner agreed, maybe reluctantly, but you're both here because something isn't working.

The same fight keeps happening with different details. One of you shuts down while the other gets louder. You're polite roommates who coordinate schedules but don't really talk. You catch yourself thinking about how it used to be, back when you actually liked each other.

You've tried talking it through yourselves. Maybe you've read books about communication. But you keep falling into the same patterns, saying the same things, getting nowhere. One of you wants to fix it immediately. The other isn't sure it can be fixed at all.

I watch how you actually talk to each other, not just what you say you do at home. Most couples have three core patterns they cycle through. I point those out as I see them—how you interrupt, how you defend, how you withdraw. How old hurts show up in new arguments.

Some couples need to learn how to fight better. Others need to remember why they're together in the first place. I use whatever approach fits what I'm seeing. I won't pretend every relationship can be saved, but most people don't know what they're really dealing with until someone shows them the patterns they can't see themselves.

Sessions are $225 per hour. We'll meet virtually anywhere in California.
